Project Description:
We have conducted a comprehensive review of your website and hosting account.
Hosting Account: Currently, the SiteGround hosting account appears to be in good standing. However, the recent need to upgrade due to storage limitations is concerning. Given the nature of SiteGround hosting, where all account files contribute to the quota, your website still should not have reached this limit.
A preliminary review of the files identified a significant issue: the error log, a text file, has exceeded 1GB in size. To optimize resource usage, this file should be regularly cleared. This task is included in our monthly maintenance plan. We can also request help from SiteGround identifying lage files or folders.
Malware Scan: A manual malware scan was performed, and no malicious software was detected. SiteGround conducts weekly automated scans as an additional security measure.
Backups: Your website benefits from daily automated backups for up to 30 days. This configuration was implemented during the initial site setup and seems to be functioning correctly. We can easily restore your website and emails from multiple backup copies.
Please note that the only potential restoration issue could arise from a highly unlikely event, such as a significant disruption at SiteGround that would compromise their backup storage.
Manual backups are also available for critical moments, such as after major site modifications.
WordPress Backend: The following updates are currently required:
- WordPress Core: Upgrade from 6.6.2 to 6.7
- Akismet Anti-spam: Update to the latest version (5.3.4)
- Ninja Tables Pro: Renew your expired license ($79/year)
- Theme Security Patch: Install the pending security patch
Since our last engagement, changes have been made to the website, primarily involving the installation of new plugins.
Custom Post Type Plugin: the Custom Post Type plugin has been added to create custom post types for Video Galleries, Sponsored by, Guides, Partners, and Live. However, most of these types lack content, except for Video Galleries, which currently don’t display any videos.
It’s important to note that the theme itself provides built-in functionality for creating custom post types, rendering the plugin unnecessary. We’ll need to clean up these unused post types and determine the intended purpose.
Events & Tickets: It looks like you no longer use Eventbrite. Is that correct? I only see manually added events and I do not see any tickets. Do you sell tickets online for events?
Recomendations:
Implement all necessary updates and security patches. Remove unnecessary plugins and unused custom post types to optimize resource utilization. Once the website has been thoroughly cleaned and updated, we recommend transitioning to a monthly maintenance plan.
Monthly website maintenance & updates will include the following (excludes catalog.sandiegolawlibrary.org as this is built on a different platform):
- Email support
- Database optimization
- File structure review
- WordPress core update
- WordPress plugins update
- Malware check and security monitoring
- 2 Hours/mo. of site update as per requests (Additional hours billed hourly)
