What can you do to increase your website conversions fast?
Most websites convert poorly.
Without conversions your website is pretty much useless.
While it’s impossible to come up with one list of ideas that will help all businesses, I think you will find the following useful regardless of your business.

Credibility is King
Do everything in your power to build credibility throughout your site.
The following will help you quickly build credibility:
[custom_list style=”list-1″]
- List your phone number in your header. Your phone number should be on each page.
- Show your address in the footer area of your site. Show it on every page. People want to deal with businesses with a physical address.
- Display customer testimonials. Have at least one testimonial on your home page and an entire page dedicated to testimonials.

Professional Design is a Must
There are too many website that look like crap. When your site looks like it was built by an enthusiastic amateur, it makes your entire company look bad. It’s true that you might save some money up front, but you will pay for it in the end. People know when they see a homemade website. It says, “Hey, we are not a serious business”. Prospects check out your website before they hire you or do business with you. You will lose sales with a badly designed site.
Up to Date Content Required
A website with old outdated content tells the world that you stopped caring. Articles from last year say to people that you are either out of business or overwhelmed. Neither one of them will help you make more money. Add new content weekly. Your website is unlike a brochure that you don’t update until it’s time to print another batch.

Build Your Email List
Contrary to many other things you hear about conversions, email is still one of the most effective ways to sell. Most businesses do a poor job collecting email addresses.
There are two common scenarios, both are terrible:
- Don’t collect email addresses. You don’t believe in it or you simply don’t want to deal with it.
- Have a boring “Newsletter” sign up form that nobody completes. Let’s face it, nobody want to sign up for yet another newsletter.
There are two effective ways to build your email list:
- Build your email list is by giving people a good reason to sign up. Give them something so valuable that they would be willing to pay for it.
- Be aggresive. Email popups are very effective. Are they a pain in the ass? Yes, but they work. Use them.
Email Regularly
Once you have started building your email list it’s time to start using it. You can expect high conversion through email marketing. The key here is to give more and sell less. Give value. Offer tips, advice, and valuable content. At least once a month you should email your list. In my experience, text emails are more effective than fancy graphical emails with images.
